At the time of this writing hypnosis is an unregulated modality in Canada. This writing is being done specifically for the province of Ontario – but is applicable to all other provinces and territories. It is to be hoped that the expectations in this promise are exceeded.

Those who adhere to this promise believe:

• Hypnosis is the most powerful inner ability that all human beings possess.
• This inner ability is the ability to use, change and explore the subconscious and superconscious state.
• Working with another’s ability is THE most intimate thing one human can do for another and profound respect and sensitivity must always be maintained.
• Since the subconscious and superconscious state is termed ‘consciousness’ and consciousness extends far beyond our ‘local’ comprehension it is part of our attachment to Universal Intelligence.

Training period

• Has many hours of training over a period of time long enough to experience inner changes him/herself as s/he develops techniques to work with this profound ability
• Has at least 200 + hours of training over at least a 6 month period
• Is not a 3 to 6 weekend training hypnotist

Training content for an Innisfree hypnosis student:

• All necessary techniques to work with a client have been taught in the basic training course by teachers fully knowledgeable about these techniques. This means that no necessary technique is left out in order to solicit financial gain by requiring the student to pay for it separately
• Understanding of learning styles and conscious dialogue with the client
• Understanding of record keeping and organization
• All necessary techniques for basic training are: Elman and Erickson techniques, regression, Gestalt dreamwork, parts work, Erickson scripting and the transpersonal area [past life, remote work, energy release knowledge]
• Techniques used are in no way be restricted by existing hypnosis associations.

On going work for Innisfree hypnotists

• Continual reading and research about the latest findings about consciousness and its affect on the human is done in the hypnosis and scientific areas
• Techniques and processes are always upgraded according to the findings of the above

Responsibilities of Innisfree Hypnotists:

• Hypnotists work within their levels of competence and refer willingly to others if the issue and technique is beyond their understanding at the moment
• Work continually to be co-operative with other hypnotists rather than competitive, are open about their own training and background and that of others [when asked]
• Hypnotists who choose to belong to an association will in no way be influenced as to their learning or understanding by that association.
• Hypnotists are honest with their clients. The hypnotist is working for the client’s change and as such coaches and informs continually about that change
• No client is ever kept in a dependent status. This means the client is taught tools for inner change which allows responsibility for themselves and the client finishes work with the hypnotist being self-reliant about the issues worked on.
• As such well conducted hypnosis sessions can usually be completed in 4 to 8 sessions
• The hypnotist is completely confidential but will disclose name and pertinent information if the client is a danger to self or others
• The hypnotist terminates sessions where the client is not being an equally responsible partner in his/her change.
• The hypnotist can explain fully the latest findings of hypnosis and the issue the client presents
• The non-medical hypnotist works only with non-medical conditions, conditions that the client is told to’ live with/ nothing can be done’ by medical personnel or works under the supervision of a medical professional if working with a medical issue.

The Innisfree Hypnosis School

• Takes students of mature age, stable, open minded, without spiritual or personal bias, and who have the necessary academic/personal background to lend to their work. This means a college or university degree or specialized training accepted by the director of the school
• Provides clearly written materials for every technique taught
• Teaches all necessary techniques in the basic training course through teachers fully knowledgeable about these techniques. This means that no necessary technique is left out in order to solicit financial gain by requiring the student to pay for it separately
• Continually adds to its courses by learning specialized methods which student can learn later to add to their tools.
• Is free from association strictures
• Has as its mandate providing the most extensive, intensive training possible to produce extremely well trained, confident hypnotists. Money is secondary.
• Certifies only if the students satisfies the instructor[s] as to competence not because of attendance
• Covers all areas of hypnosis from the well known to the developing known
• Has instructors who demonstrate all techniques and provide mentorship while students practice these techniques.
• Can explain the background and reason for all techniques
• Continually presents books and research for students’ learning
• Demands the highest involvement from their students
